Resurrection Roadtrip

Posted by James Carroll on

As we celebrate Passion Week during these unique circumstances, I pray you’re taking time to reflect upon the history-shaping events of the days leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. While we’ll miss gathering on Friday evening and Sunday morning to worship collectively, my heart is that we would not miss the significance of this important time of remembering God’s work to accomplish our salvation. To help you with this and to provide a safe excursion outside your home, our church family has put together a “Resurrection Roadtrip.”

This Friday or Saturday from 3:00-6:00 PM load up in your car and travel to 12 sites throughout our community to see a visual representation of the Passion Week story. We’ll provide easy-to-follow directions and an audio guide to direct your journey. These resources will connect the visuals at each site to the biblical narrative and explain their lasting significance.

As an added blessing, you’ll have the opportunity to see a few other fellow Parkway members along the way. Because each site is in the front yard of a member of our family, you’ll enjoy the personal interaction of waving (from inside your vehicle) at folks you’ve missed seeing the past few weeks. Also, look for other travelers on the way and greet them as you pass. Our normal fellowship has certainly been interrupted, but we can take advantage of this drive-by opportunity to reconnect with one another in a small way.

We must honor the guidelines set in place for our community. Please do not get out of your vehicle and make sure that you are maintaining social distancing at all times.

Again, I love you, I miss you, and I look forward to worshipping together on Friday and Sunday.
